New plugin install and other web stuff

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Feel free to comment on anything you see on this site!

I just installed a new plugin for the site. It's the WP-Flickr plugin available at this site http://www.dvhome.co.uk/88/wp-flickrtag/ and it works a treat. I modified it slightly (just changed a few parameters in a function call) to suit my needs a bit more, but nothing major. So now I can call random Flickr images in a post wherever I want just like this:

guitar

or this

breast

Pretty cool.

Now speaking of web stuff, the latest site I have been working on is almost finished. The design is done, and now just needs to be converted to a template. Take a look :

Millar Design

It's a simple clean layout that was based off the company's business card. i would have liked to be more flashy but I was restrained as to what I could do by the client. I know exactly where the slices will be, however I have made it slightly difficult. I have built the site using Joomla as the backend, and now I have to make my first Joomla template.

Joomla is great, and will be the basis of all my sites from here on in. It is simply amazing and I don't know why I haven't used it for the basis of my CMS sites before now. In fact I'll be transferring the XRISmedia site over to Joomla when I get some time.

Well right now I need a coffee, and a clear head to tackle this Joomla stuff. Lets see how it goes.

Metal Gu-ru, is it you?

Some days I justdon't get to play as much as I would like. Some days I don't get to play at all. But I just had to pick up my new PRS and crank out something simple and primal and that is what I did.

I just spent the last 20 minutes jamming with "20th Century Boy" by T. Rex.

Mark Bolan was all about groove and attitude. "20th Century Boy" is a great example of that. The music may be simple blues based rock, especially tracks like "Baby Boomerang", but he makes it sound so glam and sleazy it's amazing. I guess it is the blues base that really appeals to me. I've been toying with the idea of a blues band for a while and I keep stumbling upon great tracks that most "traditional" blues acts would shun, yet are still undoubtably blues tracks. Songs like "Baby Boomerang" could be done as a "straight" blues song and most people would not realise it was by one of the godfathers of glam rock.

Porn.

Now that the smooth segue is complete I have a public notice to all computer users:

When you take your computer for repairs technicians will find the stuff you wish no one would.

I'm not kidding. I'm my day I've seen it all. It's like picking your nose when you are driving, you don't seem to realise that people can see you doing something you would normally keep very private (unless you have a public nose picking fetish). Softcore, hardcore, teen and granny porn, fatty porn and vertical porn, the works. But the best stuff is the self made variety. I've had to work on a PC that had the owner naked sucking a bong on set as the desktop image. I've looked at PC's belong to girls that contain images of them giving head. Anything you can think of, I've seen it.

So why am I bringing this up? I've gone to the next step and have been contracted to build a website for an adult establishment. A legitimate, real deal escort agency. The thing is, it doesn't even register a blip on my moral radar at all. Is that a reflection on me? I don't know and I don't really care. All I know is that I'm getting paid handsomley for the work.
