Musician's Road. Thanks for visiting and I hope you hang around!
There are two companies that I would kill to own all the effects they produce. One is Carl Martin, the other, is MXR. I’ve mentioned before my love of the Phase 90, and MXR/Jim Dunlop have tweaked these two pedals to give them a fresh new sheen of desirability.
While the tremolo is a great pedal, it’s the Carbon that I have a dseire for. I suggest you check out the site for the Carbon copy and have a listen for yourself.

My new dream guitar. In this finish. My goodness this thing is beautiful, and packed with features to boot.
- Chambered Mahongany Body
- Quilted maple top in Midnight Ebony (pictured) or Faded Cherry Burst
- Alico Pickups
- NanoMag Pickup
- Gold hardware
- Full neck and body binding
It also feature two outputs, a blended output for both the standard pickups and the Nanomag, plus the ability to send the signals independently of each other. I didn’t know much about the nanoMag pickup so I did some research. The Shadow Electronics website says the following.
The NanoMAG is a magnetic pickup with an air coil and a composition of different samarium cobalt magnets incorporating active electronics in a minimum of space. The pickup is protected by an epoxy layer, and the silver-platinum shielding will provide together with the active electronics a low impedance hum free output signal.
Basically, it a real small pickup (if fits in where the “23rd” fret would be, so that give you an indication of the size) and produces realistic acoustic tones from the guitar. The authenticity of these sound I feel would be enhanced by the guitars chambered body.
I want one of these so bad it hurts. There’s a video on the mini site for the guitar that you should all have a look at.

Tech21 never fail to make a great pedal. I still have an original XXL in my pedal rack that I use for subtle warmth through to supreme fuzz noise. These pedals are more refined in that that focus on one particular of amp each. The 5 pedals are the Blonde, the British, the California, the Liverpool, and the VT Bass, each emulating the similarly monikered amps of the era.
RRP is US$200 and you could definitely do worse for the money.

Hey there everybody. I know posts have been thin lately but there is a reason for that. My web host is useless, and again I have been having troubles with the site. So to remedy this problem I have decided to get myself some dedicated hosting for all my web projects. It costs me more but I’ll more than make that money back so I don’t care. If you can read this, then you are seeing the site on the new server.
What this means is that the site should be faster, and now that it is it’s own domain, and not being co-hosted under my business site, I have new email addresses for GTB. It also means there is a lot of news I have missed while not being able to do anything. I’ve decided not to go back and cover much of what I’ve missed, and will grab just the things I find interesting and have something to say about.
Now I have a question for all you guys and gals out there. I have a couple of interviews lined up, and I’m looking for some suggestions. I want to give the interview category a “snappy” title. I’m open to suggestions and anyone who comes up with a good title, I’ll work out some sort or reward. Not sure what, but I’ll try.
