T-Bone Walker, Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Freddie King, Son House––these guys are in a class all their own. Makes you wonder how it happened, too... today, blues as a whole is only a shadow of what it was in the early & mid 20th century. So much emphasis on just one part of the equation (guitar,) has left the entire genre sounding somewhat neutered. IMHO anyway.
