Seems to be a slew of new overdrive/distortion pedals lately. Out of the pile, here are some of note. The first two come from Damage Control (now that is a name for a distortion company if I ever heard one).

Damage Control Solid Metal Damage Control Liquid Blues

The Solid Metal dual-tube distortion pedal produces massive, face-melting gain. Flexible controls let you dial in metal tones from the 80's to beyond tomorrow. The unique shape of the Bass control adjusts the speaker's resonant response for the proper level of chest-thump during tight palm-muted passages, while the Scoop and Treble knobs sculpt and top off your tone to perfection.

The Liquid Blues dual-tube overdrive pedal can persuade any amp to walk down a dark alley. But with the unique Clarity control, you can keep it clean, even when things get rough. The Drive knob takes you from clean to medium-gain tones, while the Opto-Compressor controls the dynamics of the clipping from down and dirty to smooth and sophisticated.

And Carl Martin has a new pedal out as well, the AC Tone Two Channel Drive/Boost Pedal (a very thorough name I must say)
Carl Martin two Channel Drive/Boost Pedal

The AC-Tone is the next overdrive in the British-voiced vein. It offers two channels of overdrive, voiced alike for preset usage, as well as an up to 20dB clean boost channel.

The overdrive is low to medium gained for a sweet, crispy sound with a mellow midrange reminiscent of the old TopBoost amps of the late 60's. The two channels range from a mild breakup to a healthy overdriven sound. One channel can be used for that slightly chimey breakup, and the other channel can be set for more overdrive giving more saturated mids and drive, you can freely set them the way that suits your needs.

I've always found that Carl Martin pedal are the most practical on the market. They have all the features you want without the one you don't need. Simple and elegant in design and functionality.
