Moog Announces Moogfest 2006 And Offers Bands A Chance At Opening The Show

OK this is very cool. Not only is this a celebration of the magificent and original Moog, but it is being run at BB King's House of Blues. It is worth submiting for a chance to play there. PLUS the Mahavishnu Project!

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
On June 22, B.B. King's Blues Club in New York will be a synthesizer fan's heaven. Some of the world's most renowned keyboardists will take the stage to honor Bob Moog at the 3rd Annual Moogfest. The all-star cast for this celebration, which begins at 7:30 p.m., includes Keith Emerson, The School of Rock, DJ Logic, Roger O'Donnell (The Cure) Jordan Rudess (Dream Theatre), The Mahavishnu Project, and Jan Hammer, performing for the first time in the U.S. since 1991. During the event, Moog Music will present a lifetime achievement award to an artist who is recognized as having expressed their unique artistry through their Moog instrument.

Artists and bands are invited to submit their music for a chance to open the show with a performance of their own. The deadline for submissions is May 15th, and the decision will be made public on May 31st. For details visit www.sonicbids.com/moogfest2006.
