Death By Audio has released the Octave Clang, a fullwave-rectified, octave up pedal that ranges from sweet octavia to abrasive sonic hell. The Octave Clang's signal is run first through a density filter, followed by an amplifier with gain ranging from 1-100. Next, the signal is sent through a circuit that fullwave rectifies the signal slightly asymmetrically for an extremely complex octavia sound. This pedal can get really loud, really nasty, yet maintains a beautifully rich harmonic texture.

Talk about some cool kit

Octave Clang This is the pedal that got me interested, but check out the custom section. These guys have made pedals for so many people and they are just insane.

But like all good things, it got me thinking. If I could have any pedal in the world that could make any sound or sound combination I want, what would I get? I really have no idea. To me, I'd rather have a really nice amp sound than anything else. My gigging rig for six months at one point was my Marshall AVT150H and a Crybaby Wah. I like trying to make the sounds with my hands rather than my feet.

That said, there are a few effects I am really dying to add to my rig. A Banshee Talk Box, some type of graphic EQ (when I record I love the sound of a heavy EQ like a telephone), and of course, a Tubescreamer.

But I would never knock a huge chain of effects when used musically. Radiohead springs to mind there as a great example of what you can achieve.
